Taixi (KI3), “Supreme Stream”, is a point on the Kidney meridian. It is point 3 of the 27 on the channel. The most important point of the Kidney meridian.

Location

In the depression between the medial malleolus and the Achilles tendon, at the level of the tip of the medial malleolus.

Functions according to tradition

The most important point of the Kidney meridian. Tonifies Kidney Yin, nourishes Essence (Jing), strengthens Kidney Yang, treats deep constitutional weakness.

Source point (原, yuán)

Stream point (输, shū)

Third of the transport points: the Qi “flows”. It is associated with heaviness of the body and joint pain; in the yin channels it coincides with the Source point.

Precautions

No specific contraindications. Avoid the posterior tibial artery.
