Pishu (BL20)

Pishu (BL20), “Spleen Shu”, is a point on the Bladder meridian. It is point 20 of the 67 on the channel. Back-Shu of the Spleen: tonifies Spleen Qi, transforms Dampness and strengthens transportation of nutrients.

Location

On the back, 1.5 cun lateral to the lower border of the spinous process of the 11th thoracic vertebra (T11).

Functions according to tradition

Back-Shu of the Spleen: tonifies Spleen Qi, transforms Dampness and strengthens transportation of nutrients.

Back-Shu point (背俞, bèi shū)

Precautions

Deep needling may injure the kidney or spleen: needle obliquely.
