A study recipe associated with the damp-heat-prone constitution (湿热质, Shī Rè Zhì): a light mung bean soup with celery, served warm or chilled in summer.

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 1 cup mung beans, rinsed Mung bean
  • 2 celery stalks, finely diced Celery
  • 6 cups water
  • A few mint leaves to serve (optional) Mint
  • A pinch of salt

Preparation

  1. Simmer the mung beans in the water over medium heat 40–50 minutes until they burst.
  2. Add the celery and cook 5 minutes more so it stays crisp-tender.
  3. Season very lightly and let the soup cool down.
  4. Serve warm or chilled, topped with mint if you like.

Traditional reading

Tradition associates this constitution with the coolest, lightest pole of the repertoire: summery mung beans, descending celery, and very little fat or sugar. It is studied as an example of the "relieving heat and dampness" language, not as a clinical effect.

Variations

  • Classic sweet version: no salt or celery, with a little rock sugar.
  • With wakame in the last minutes you study the salty-marine nuance.

Precautions

Celery is a recognized allergen in several regions. Refrigerate the chilled soup promptly and eat within 24 hours; mint may worsen reflux. Constitution is determined with a professional; this recipe is study material, not a personal plan.
