Lieque (LU7)
Lieque (LU7), “Broken Sequence”, is a point on the Lung meridian. It is point 7 of the 11 on the channel. Releases the exterior, strengthens Wei Qi, descends Lung Qi, benefits the head and neck.

Location
1.5 cun proximal to the wrist crease, on the radial border, between the brachioradialis and abductor pollicis longus tendons.
Functions according to tradition
Releases the exterior, strengthens Wei Qi, descends Lung Qi, benefits the head and neck. Master point for head and neck.
Traditional indications
- Cough
- Asthma
- Headache
- Neck stiffness
- Cold
- Rhinitis
- Wei Qi deficiency
Indications described by tradition; they do not amount to proven clinical effectiveness for each one.
What its classification means
From here the collateral that links the channel to its interior-exterior partner departs, which is why it is credited with acting on both channels at once.
It belongs to the small group of points that tradition associates with an entire region of the body (Zusanli with the abdomen, Weizhong with the back, Lieque with the head and nape, Hegu with the face and mouth…).
Precautions
Needle obliquely and avoid the radial artery, which lies very close.
Points on other channels with similar indications
They share several traditional indications with this point. Comparing them helps understand why one or the other is chosen.
