Shaohai (HT3)

Shaohai (HT3), “Lesser Sea”, is a point on the Heart meridian. It is point 3 of the 9 on the channel. He-Sea of the Heart: clears Heart Heat, calms the Shen and unblocks the channel at the elbow.

Location

With the elbow flexed, between the medial end of the elbow crease and the medial epicondyle of the humerus.

Sea point (合, hé)

Last of the transport points, near the elbow or knee: the Qi “goes deep” and joins the organ. It has been used for disorders of the fu organs and the Stomach.

Precautions

The ulnar nerve runs behind the medial epicondyle: avoid strong stimulation of the nerve.
